UNAI SDG Hub 11 Chair: De Montfort University

De Montfort University, Leicester, United Kingdom, has put the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the heart of Teaching, Research and Civic Engagement since 2015. The approach has been to embed the SDGs in courses and include SDG targets and indicators into new research projects. Furthermore, extra-curricular student activities deliver positive community impacts.

DMU offers opportunities for all staff, students and partners to impact ecological and humanitarian issues through projects including refugee advocacy, the UN’s Football for the Goals Campaign and climate talks which bring COP to campus. Finally, DMU’s Estates team is working towards emission reduction targets to ensure that campus operations become net zero by 2032.
